1.   All players must be at least 18 years old to play in the league.

2.   A team may start a game with 9 players, and the 10th spot is not an out, the 10th player may be
     inserted as soon as the player arrives. *A manager cannot add the 11th player or DH after the games
     starts. Note!!!! If you start a game with 10 or 11 players and one is injured too severe to continue
     or if the player leaves, an out will be recorded.

RE-ENTRY RULE:

3.   All starters can come out and re-enter the game once. A starter and sub cannot be in a game at the
     same time – EFFECT: Section 5 A-C Violation of the re-entry rule is disqualification. (Ejection)

FORFEITS:

4.   All teams are allowed 3 forfeit dates, on the 4th date, team or teams are out of the league and the
     next year.

FORFEIT TIMES:

5.   Game Time is Forfeit Time
     Games are 7 PM during the week at field’s VP 1 & VP 2
     Giving the Umpire time to arrive at The Old High School Field
     Games will start at 8:15pm & 9:15pm at the Old High School Field
     All games on VP 1, VP 2 & Old High School will start at 9am on Sundays

6.   A runner may not leave the base until the ball is made contact with, or the runner or runners are out.
     Defensive players must maintain a semi set position until the ball is released from the pitchers hand
     First offence is a warning, then a ball will be called there after.
     This is SOFTBALL, there is no reason to jockey a position for a pick off play.

7.   Teams may bat up to 12 players.

8.   NO metal spikes, football shoes or work boots & track shoes.

9.   All players must wear the same color shirt with the Sponsors name. It can be a new or old one
     as long as it has the Sponsors name on it.

10.  Slide into all bases except first. On a play to first base, the runner must go to the orange base
     only. If the defensive player moves into his path to make a play on a wildly thrown ball, the runner
     may touch either base.

11.  All batters will start with One and One count.
     The 3rd strike foul rule is in affect.

12.  All over throws into the dead ball area is two bases from the point of release.
     All balls that roll into dead ball area from contact of the batter will be two bases
     even if touched by defensive player.
     A catch and carry is an award of one base only:-
     Example: Runner on first will be awarded 2nd base only if a caught fly ball is carried
     into dead ball area unintentionally.
     A defensive player needs to only have one foot inside the dead ball area to make a catch.

13.  If a player or players are ejected from the game, they must sit out the next two games, push or verbally
     attack an Umpire, player or players will be banned from the league.

PROTESTS:

14.  Protest only ASA rules, not judgment calls. All protests must be handwritten to League President
     within 24 hours along with $100. The manager must tell the Umpire, and sign the scorecard at time of protest,
     if the protest is upheld, the money will be returned.

RULES:

15.  If there is a doubt about cancelled games because of rain call Mike at 1(203)788-5137. Do not call
     Park and Rec Dept.

16.  Courtesy Runner: Each team is allowed no more than two (2) courtesy runners per game. Courtesy runner
     can be anyone, even the fastest player. Make every effort to have the runner not in
     position to be at bat if they run.

17.  12 Run Rule: 12 run rule will take effect after 5th inning, home team will not bat after 5th inning.

18.  Pitchers are allowed 3 warm up pitches in the first inning, no infield practice after the first inning.
     Pitchers may have one warm up pitch after the first inning. All other pitches will result
     in a ball for the batter. After the first inning and each warm up pitch or put out, the ball
     is to return directly to the pitcher.

19.  All players must play or attend one third of its team’s games in order to play in the play-offs.

20.  Team Captain or team representative must sign scorecard and lineup card.

21.  Any slide deemed to injure the defensive player by judgement of the Umpire will result in an automatic
     ejection and will sit out the next 5 games. A second offense will result in sitting out the remainder
     of the season.

22.  Fighting will NOT be tolerated, the result will be expulsion from the league.

23.  Play Ball.
